On 1st February 2015, the SMUX Kayaking team set off for the first instalment of our 2* "Exploring Singapore’s Waterways" Series.
It was a beautiful morning - bright and sunny, with a nice gentle breeze as we aimed to paddle from Changi Beach to Pulau Ubin.
However, along with the excitement and unpredictability that afflicts every paddle session, our first surprise of the day was having a group of kayakers board a bus towards Punggol instead of Changi! Thankfully, they were alert enough, realized that they were on the wrong bus and joined the rest of us soon enough in suiting up and setting off on our journey.
We admired the coastlines and the various islands as we paddled, eventually beaching up on Pulau Ubin for lunch. As we returned to Changi Village, we took advantage of the waves pushing in towards the shore, “kayak-surfing” our way back to Changi Beach.
It was another great day out with awesome company, and we ended off our journey with a sumptuous meal at the famous Changi Village Hawker Centre.
Hope to see you guys for the second instalment of our 2* "Exploring Singapore’s Waterways" Series as we embark on another exciting adventure!
