On 26th October, the SMUX Kayaking team organized the inaugural Ubin Adventure event where participants,regardless of certification,paddle in pairs to explore the exotic mangrove of Pulau Ubin!
Participants got to appreciate the wonders of nature by kayaking within the less explored region of Singapore water bodies. The event,mainly lead by an external vendor called Ubin Adventure and are very experienced in leading participants around the ubin mangrove. It was definitely an eye-opener for the new kayakers who have never ventured beyond the safety boundaries of Pasir Ris or Changi Beach.
We were also blessed with the opportunity to learn more about the aquatic plants growing in the mangrove. As we paddled alongside the instructors,they patiently explained the unique characteristics of the plants.
It was indeed a good day out away from the bustling city life! A big thank you to Ubin Adventures for bringing us around the mangroves, and to all our participants for being so sporting and fun throughout the entire event !
