From 20th to 22nd Feb, Kayaking and Xseed headed over to Perak, Malaysia for our mid-term event, Cave and Wave! There, we went river tubing, and had some caving fun too :)
We first delved into the 400 million year old Gua Kandu caves in Gopeng, ducking low through narrow tunnels that led into massive caverns with bottomless depths. Along the way, we had a few history lessons, ran into some bats, and conquered MANY rope elements. To top it off, we swung down a short, 5-second zipline that brought us out of the cave mouth.
On day two, the team went river tubing in Kampar river.
There, we were swept down with the gushing flow of the previous night’s rainwater, even tumbling right out of our floats at times! Towards the end of the river where the water was calmer, we linked up our tubes and drifted down together for a well-deserved break after all the tossing and toppling.
Of course, as with all good trips to Malaysia, we made sure to make a pit-stop for a filling seafood dinner before crossing the causeway. All in all, with good weather and great company, Cave and Wave will definitely be one to remember.
We hope you’ll join us for the next edition of our trip (Cave & Rave anyone?) Check out more photos from the trip here!
