Paddling in a super volcano with an island within it that is the size of Singapore was the highlight of our Lake Toba expedition. As with our summer expedition, we placed all our gear into our kayaks; which meant having to waterproof all our essentials, as we paddled from lake house to lake house with some trekking elements interjected into the trip. It has been an enjoyable experience as we clocked approximately 80km distance in 4 days and we got to try all sorts of paddles such as the Greenland, Aleutian and Euro Paddles along the way.
